Oh, Hi!
It's been quite a long time since my last post, yeah.. Sure it's a very long wait for me to wake up
(or still not...?hmmm...) from this long 'hibernation' ...lol,..Just like how I always put my notebook in hibernation, so does my body..never ever try to step into a life like mine..Don't even dare to try, u gonna u regretted once u tried..
Ok, let's stop this gibberish..
Hibernation, or 'hibernate' ..Some of you might be wondering what is this 'hibernate' term all about when you try to shut down your PC..
(Or........maybe not...?Errrr...is it too much of curiosity?)
I know nothing about the technical part of computers, not my thingy. But, I believe it's not good to keep hibernating your PC while you can just shutting it down. It's quite a few time when my notebook turned blank after a long hibernation.. And whenever I've tried to turn it on again, there's a popup note stated that my notebook was auto-shut down due to high temperature from long hibernation...
Hmmm..So, I guess it's not really a good act to keep my notebook in hibernate mode in many times...Am I right?? Let's get some info. Just enough info to feed my curiosity cause I am too lazy to even do my typing. LOL..
Note: My writings here are just based on few information gathered from the internet..A very simple info for my knowledge...You might want to search for further info or any details with regards to terms used in other sources to suit your needs.
H.I.B.E.R.N.A.T.E. (FOR WINDOWS)
What is Hibernate for Window means?
Hibernation is kind of a mix between a traditional shut down and sleep mode primarily designed for laptops.
Why do we use Hibernate?
Hibernate Workflow. Unlike JDBC*, Hibernate connects with the database itself and uses HQL** to execute the queries and then it maps the results to the Java objects. The results are mapped to objects based on the properties given in the Hibernate configuration XML*** file.
* JDBC - Java Database Connectivity
** HQL (Hibernate Query Language)
***XML - eXtensible Markup Language, much like HTML
While sleep puts your work and settings in memory and draws a small amount of power, hibernate saves the current state of your PC—open programs and documents—to your hard disk and then turns off your PC. Of all the power-saving states in Windows, hibernation uses the least amount of power. When you hibernate, all the RAM is copied to a hibernation file on disk, then the computer is shut completely off, using no power, while leave it in sleep state will drain your battery.
How to wake up your PC from Hibernation?
Click “Shut down or sign out,” then select “Hibernate.” For Windows 10, click "Start" and select "Power>Hibernate." Your computer's screen flickers, indicating the saving of any open files and settings, and goes black. Press the “Power” button or any key on the keyboard to wake your computer from hibernation.
Sooooooooo?? Is it OK or NOT OK if I kept my notebook in hibernation mode every time? Ugghh, I am just too lazy to read more and more..I've also read few responds from qualified person in computer engineering at quora.com. Some said it is dangerous if left your laptop in hibernate for too many times - like 1000 times a day - for some reason related to your SSD & RAM..bla bla bla..
Some other computer science engineer responded to him the other wise, and said when hibernating all data will run through compress and decompress, so it won't affect so much on the SSD & RAM.
Oh, that computer science engineer also noted that the Microsoft added this feature by thinking in all the way..I guess he's right on this, otherwise I am the one who has not done more research about it (well, none of my business, isn't it??)
Guess, I've gotta know what I wanna know as for now..
Of all, I believe every single button or features designed in the PC has its own function and usage. Don't question why, when you've a very tiny knowledge about computers' technicality and its functionality. As long as it doesn't affect your life for not getting to know every little details about it, that's about all. Full stop. Nevertheless, you can always learn more if you want to. LOL. I am the lazy here.
I'll end my writing here by telling you that I WILL KEEP USING THE HIBERNATE MODE...ROFTL..
Till then.
Hey! You might wanna know something (or is it just me again???)...
Ooooooooowwwwww...Cute huh?!
Black bears, Grizzly bears and Brown bears DO go into a deep sleep during the winter months, known as torpor. Hibernation is when animals “sleep” through the winter. ... During true hibernation, the animal's body temperature drops to match the outside temperature (adaptive winter survival technique), and their heart rate and rate of breathing slows down.
Zzzzz....Oooooouuh, this little thing......Aren't you too cute??
Footnotes:
1) I did mention earlier on myself being in the state of hibernation for long time.. well I am SERIOUSLY NOT HIBERNATING, LOL..It's just my self made metaphor for me being lazy this all time..Anyhow, some might be wondering those human hibernation state..Here's a link that can help you find further info on human hibernation.. http://www.bbc.com/future/story/20140505-secrets-behind-the-big-sleep ...If you need more info, I may not be any help..Try to find the right sources through other sites, books, etc.
2) Information may be inaccurate as all are 100% gathered from various sources from the internet.
